The Kingsboro Press was founded in New York in 2007 by Daniel Wagner and Megan Plunkett. Focusing on a publishing practice dedicated to raw art, literature, and thought, the partnership is now based in both New York and Los Angeles, and is anchored by a twice-yearly, self-titled journal. The Kingsboro Press’ production includes books, periodicals, zines, cassette tapes, vinyl records, collaborative works, and curated exhibitions and events. Kingsboro projects are rarely thematically orientated, instead pursuing a curatorial expression balanced between the vetted and unfettered. While inspired by the rich history of arts and subculture communication—including original Modernist journals and early DIY music and punk fanzines—The Kingsboro Press’ reactive and mutable praxis suggests a new model of publishing that is constantly challenging, questioning, referencing, and nurturing an ongoing conversation about art, thought, and production. Through each venture, The Kingsboro Press has continued to foster and define its own community and to cultivate a roster of young, up-and-coming contributors and collaborators.

Kingsboro has exhibited internationally and has been recognized by institutions including The Museum of Modern Art, The New Museum, and The Brooklyn Museum.
